Abstract/Summary
Archive for a historic building survey of the working part of Dovecote Farm, North Kelsey, to inform the proposed conversion of former agricultural outbuildings to a new residential dwelling. The surveyed buildings comprised three ranges forming a U-shape compound around a crewyard, open to the South. They were constructed of red brick, under pitched gabled tile roofs. The compound included several former animal stalls or stables, a possible cart shed, and a barn and hay loft, as well as other outbuildings possibly used for storage. The earliest phase of the compound, a three storey barn, is likely early 19th century or earlier. The East and West ranges were added in the late 19th or early 20th century.
