Abstract/Summary
Archive for the programme of historic building recording of Church Farm, Main Road, Legsby, conducted prior to its proposed demolition. Two site visits were undertaken as part of the survey. The main body of the farmhouse dated to the 17th century and was of timber framed construction. It underwent considerable alterations and additions in the mid 20th century, including a single storey side wing, reducing the main farmhouse from two stories to one, and heavy cement rendering to all elevations of the farmhouse. The detached outbuilding is the only surviving element of the three sided range seen in map regression, and the brickwork suggested that that this outbuilding and the main farmhouse were broadly contemporaneous. A photographic record was made of the exterior and interior.
