Abstract/Summary

Archive for the programme of historical building recording and archaeological monitoring, conducted to inform the conversion and change of use of the former stables at Holywell Hall. The building is thought to date to about 1732, although shows evidence of extensive alterations and enlargement in the mid 18th century. More recent internal alterations were also recorded, relating to the building's conversion to offices at some point in the 20th century. The monitoring works revealed the remains of several brick-lined drains, that had clearly formed part of the original drainage system associated with the early stables building.
