Abstract/Summary
Archive for the excavation of three trial trenches, dug to inform the proposed construction of a new pig rearing and finishing unit at Gayton Top Farm, Gayton le Wold. The investigation recorded the remains of a single east to west aligned ditch, from which a single abraded sherd of Bronze Age pottery was recovered. The sherd was found in a secondary fill of the ditch, however, and may represent redeposited material. No secure dating evidence for the ditch was therefore identified and its exact origin and function remains uncertain.
