Full Description

The remains of an east to west aligned ditch was recorded in this location in March 2020, during trial trenching on land at Gayton Top Farm. A single abraded sherd of early to middle Bronze Age grey coarseware pottery was recovered from a secondary fill of the ditch, although it was unclear whether this represented redeposited material. No secure dating evidence for the ditch was therefore identified and its exact origin and function remains uncertain. {1}{2}
