Abstract/Summary

Report on a programme of archaeomagnetic dating, conducted during the excavation of a fired clay surface at Morton Fen. The surface was thought to have formed part of a Roman pottery kiln or saltern site. Two possible date ranges for the hearth's last firing were advance, these being during either the 2nd or 4th century (125-188 cal. AD and 294-375 cal. AD).
