Description

An archaeological excavation was carried out as part of the Fenland Management Project. A single trench measuring 30m by 10m was placed over a suspected hearth detected by prior magnetic susceptibility survey and the surface scatter found during the Fenland Survey fieldwalking. A 6m by 6m area was extended off the trench to investigate a strong anomaly detected during geophysical survey.{1}
