Abstract/Summary

Report on the analysis of four large copper-alloy vessels dating to the 6th or 7th centuries AD, recovered from the Loveden Hill Anglo-Saxon cemetery site. The analysis used surface X-ray fluorescence to determine that two hanging bowls and a cauldron were of bronze, whilst a Coptic bowl was of a heavily leaded, low zinc brass.
