The largest Anglo-Saxon cemetery discovered in Lincolnshire so far, it covers about 1.2 acres. It has a date range from the 5th to the 7th century, with over 1700 cremations and 45 inhumations. Finds from the site include glass vessels and two hanging bowls. The cemetery was first reported in the 1920s when some excavation took place (such as barrow 30288 in 1920). Further excavation occured in the 1950s and 1970s when the site was deep ploughed which revealed the extent of the cemetery. Archive finds are in City and County Museum. Included in the finds from the cemetery was a coptic bowl, one of only twenty-five known in England at the time of its discovery. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}{6}{7}{8}
