Abstract/Summary
Report on the excavation of two trial trenches, dug to investigate the cause of a 'T' shaped cropmark found on land at Grange Farm, Sudbrooke. The exact placement of the trenches was not measured. The trenches revealed two linear features, the first of which was approximately 50m long and ran east-west, parallel to Nettleham Grange. The second ran north-south, perpendicular to the first linear feature. Waterlogged and well preserved brushwood was found at the bottom of the east-west running linear. Radiocarbon dating suggests a date around AD1800, indicating that the linear features were likely related to landscaping or agricultural activity of the Sudbrooke Holme Estate.
