Author/Originator
Date/Year 2016

Abstract/Summary

Archive for the excavation of six trial trenches, dug to inform proposed residential development on land to the north of Station Road, Legbourne. The investigation revealed a number of ditch and pit-like features at the eastern end of the site, most of which had not been not identified by a prior geophysical survey of this area (see ELI12933). A single piece of early Romano-British pottery was recovered from one of the ditches, although no dating material was recovered from any of the other features, and their origin remains uncertain. Two redeposited prehistoric flint artefacts were also recovered during the investigation.
