Archive for the programme of archaeological monitoring and recording, conducted during groundworks for residential development on land at 55 Backgate, Cowbit. The monitoring recorded the presence of several former ditches and pits, most of which may be of post-medieval date. No finds were recovered from any of these features, however, and their exact origin remains uncertain.
