Full Description
A number of former ditch and pit features were recorded in this lcoation in February 2016, during archaeological monitoring of residential development on land at 55 Backgate. Several of the ditch features appeared to share the same alignment as the surrounding post-medieval field and drainage system, and were possibly contemporary with it. No finds were recovered from any of the features, however, and their exact origin remains uncertain. {1}{2}
