Archive for the excavation of two trial trenches, dug to inform the proposed construction of a new dwelling on land adjacent to Southdown, Eastfield Lane, Grimoldby. The remains of a backfilled pond and a former drainage ditch were identified. The features were of likely post-medieval date, given the recorded historical use of this area, although no finds were recovered and the date could not be confirmed. The former drainage ditch had been re-used to hold a modern land drain.
