Report on a watching brief, undertaken during the groundworks for an extension to the care home at Gables Manor, Ingleby. The northern edge of the moat surrounding the former manor was recorded, and a small quantity of 14th to 16th century tile was recovered from the primary fill. A brick and stone culvert was also recorded, and is likely to be associated with later post-medieval occupation of the site.
