A watching brief was undertaken during the groundworks for an extension to the care home at Gables Manor, Ingleby. The northern edge of the moat surrounding the former manor was recorded, and a small quantity of 14th to 16th century tile was recovered from the primary fill. A brick and stone culvert was also recorded, and is likely to be associated with later post-medieval occupation of the site. {1}{2}
