Abstract/Summary

Archive for the excavation of five trial trenches, dug to inform the proposed erection of marquees within the inner ward of Tattershall Castle. The investigation revealed a series of levelling layers and dumped deposits across the site, from which a large assemblage of redeposited medieval and post-medieval artefacts were recovered. Small quantities of redeposited Roman and late Saxon ceramics were also recovered, and traces of a possible foundation trench and possible former surface were also recorded.
