Archive for the excavation of ten trial trenches, dug in advance of residential development on land at London Road, Kirton. The evaluation followed a previous geophysical survey (see ELI4665). Only one of the features identified by that survey was encountered, and this turned out to be a 19th-20th century boundary ditch. A small quantity of 17th century and later pottery and building material was recovered, but not sufficient to indicate settlement on site.
