Source/Archive record (Archive) SLI11189 - Land Behind the 'Council Houses', Greatford

Title Land Behind the 'Council Houses', Greatford
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2006

Abstract/Summary

Archive for the archaeological watching brief, undertaken during the groundworks associated with the digging of a pond on land behind the 'Council Houses', Greatford. The work allowed a clearer understanding to be made of the relationship between the ditch features previously identified on this site. No dateable material was recovered from either ditch, and whilst they were thought to be contemporary with the Saxon activity previously identified in this area, one of the ditches had a sharp right-angled bend, which may suggest an earlier Roman date.
