Full Description

A former joiners workshop, in the centre of Walesby. The date of construction of the building is unknown, though the building is depicted on the 1st edition 6 inch Ordnance Survey County Series map, published in the 1880s. The building is also depicted on the 2nd edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey County Series map, when an adjacent saw pit was also labelled. {1}{2} The building was photographed during a site visit in January 2002. The photographs show a single storey structure in stone, with a steeply pitched pantile roof, and several wooden framed, single-pane windows. The photographs also show a separate wooden-framed outbuilding, to the immediate west of the joiners workshop. This outbuilding has timber wall and a corrugated metal roof, though appears to be in quite a poor condition. At the time of the visit, the joiners workshop building was no longer in use, though plans had been proposed to convert the building to housing. {3}{4} The building was converted to housing in 2010, and it appears that much of the original building was dismantled and re-built. The wooden outbuilding to the west was also demolished. {5}
