Full Description

A short length of undated stone wall was revealed in August 2013, during the archaeological monitoring of groundworks for new development at Lincoln College, Monks Road, Lincoln. The wall is of roughly hewn limestones, and whilst its full extent was not exposed, it was roughly 0.5m wide, and two courses high. No other sections of walling were found during the watching brief, and so this short length was thought to be a localised remnant. No dating evidence was found in association with the wall, though it was thought that it may possibly be associated with the former medieval friary found nearby. {1}{2}
