Full Description

A Wesleyan Methodist chapel, thought to have been built in 1812 and replaced by the Abbey Road chapel to the direct south in 1839 (see MLI95639). {1}{2} The former chapel is depicted on the 1st edition 25" Ordnance Survey County Series map, set slightly back from the front of Abbey Road. The new chapel of 1839 adjoins it, directly to the south. The building was demolished in 1965, when a new church hall was built in its place. An 1812 datestone from the earlier structure was re-used, being set in the outer, front wall of the new church hall. {3}{4}
