Full Description

South Somercotes Wesleyan Methodist chapel was built in 1869 and closed in 1933, after which it was used as a store. The building is of red brick and has a gabled roof. The building has become dilapidated and the frontage is now an ad hoc combination of scrap wood and corrugated iron, with a few courses of yellow brick that may or may not be part of the original building. The walls to the side elevations look finished so it may be that the frontage was never brick. There are yellow brick string courses in the remaining walls. {1}{2}{3}{4}
