Full Description

Skegness Methodist Chapel was built in 1882 to seat 600. It was built by Charles Bell, at a cost of £1,800. A Sunday school was added in 1902 and a church parlour in 1908. In 1941, the south and east walls were damaged in an air raid and the society had to meet in the schoolroom until repairs were made after the War. In 1981-2 a kitchen was added and the schoolroom extended. The building is in the 13th century Gothic style, and is of red brick and has a gabled roof. The gables are raised and highly decorated with prominent buttresses topped with small stone towers. There are also several stone string courses, stone coping and a finial. The windows are topped with stone hood mouldings and the central window features geometric tracery. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}
