Full Description

A small area of likely medieval ridge and furrow was identified during analysis of aerial photographs in 2010. It was visible as cropmarks, to the west of Newton on Trent. {1} Traces of the ridge and furrow were recorded during a magnetometry survey, conducted in March 2011, in advance of the proposed construction of a new water treatment works to the south-west of Newton on Trent. The features were recorded as a number of linear magnetic anomalies, running in a north to south alignment. {2}{3}
