Full Description

The remains of an east to west aligned ditch was recorded in this location, during trial trenching conducted in October 2013. A single sherd of mid to late Iron Age pottery was recovered from its primary fill, along with a small quantity of animal bone from its upper fill. Environmental sampling of the primary fill indicated that the feature lay in open grassland, and was periodically filled with water, suggesting it had functioned as a drainage ditch. {1}{2}
