Full Description

During evaluation at Castle Moat House, Lincoln in 2010, Trench 2 revealed a trench which contained four sherds of Roman pottery. Within the Roman trench was a posthole and another possible posthole. Another feature was also revealed in Trench 2, this was a linear feature. This feature dates from the Flavian period and includes Roman pottery and glass. A cut against the revetment wall in this trench [see PRN 71153] contained a small amount of 3rd century pottery sherds and some intrusive 19th century pottery. {1}{2}
