Full Description

The Swineshead War Memorial stands in the Market Place of Swineshead. It is limestone with slate plaques and was erected in 1920 to commemorate the dead of the village of the First World War. After the Second World War the names of those who died in that war were added. The memorial was designed by Mr Bond of Grantham and built by Maxeys of Sleaford. {1} Unveiled in 1920, Swineshead war memorial commemorates those who fell in the First World War and the Second World War. Located on Market Place, the memorial is a calvary with carvings of the crucifixion and St George. The memorial stands on a tall octagonal plinth set on a stone base and tier of steps. {2}
