Full Description

Earthwork remains of a number of small hollows and mounds were recorded in this location in January 2010, during a topographic survey conducted to inform proposed tree planting. The features were recorded to the north of the earthwork remains of a former field boundary, and were thought to possibly represent the remains of former ponds and building platforms. Several of the features could be clearly seen to cut into the underlying remains of medieval ridge and furrow on the site, and were therefore of likely post-medieval date. No structures are depicted in this location on historic Ordnance Survey mapping, however, although the former field boundary is clearly marked. {1}{2}
