Full Description

During trial trenching in February 2011 by Archaeological Project Services, five pits and one possible pit and eight post holes were revealed. Finds included post medieval brick and pottery. {1}{2} During monitoring of groundworks for a residential development in September 2011 by Archaeological Project Services two pits containing 17th to mid 18th century pottery and 19th century pottery respectively were found in Plot 1. In the garage area for Plots 1 and 2, an east to west aligned ditch containing 19th century pottery was found. In Plot 2, a pit containing a sherd of mid 17th to 18th century pottery and animal bone was revealed. Another east to west aligned ditch containing late 19th century pottery was found in the garage area for Plot 3 and within Plot 4 a pit containing an iron nail and the stem of a 19th century clay pipe was found. {3}{4}
