The granite war memorial at Holbeach St Marks was erected in about 1919 to the memory of the 35 men from Holbeach Marsh who died in the First World War. Further names of those five men who fell in the Second World War were later added. It is in the form of an obelisk. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} The eleven feet six inches (three metres) high, white, marble obelisk at Holbeach St Marks honours those who died in the First World War and the Second World War. Unveiled in 1928, the memorial is mounted on a square plinth with two steps and a concrete base. The memorial stands on St Mark's Road on a triangular piece of land, previously part of the churchyard. {2}
