Full Description
PRN 25617
A trial trench evaluation involving the excavation of three trenches was carried out in May 2009, on land off Station Road, Gedney Hill. A potentially early (late medieval?) phase of activity was identified on the northern side of the site (PRN 25616). Post medieval activity was evident on the western side of the site (Trench 2), where pits were located, containing mid 16th to early 17th century pottery. Late 17th or 18th century pottery was found in association with another pit, which had been cut by a ditch or possible pit, also containing later post medieval pottery. {1}{2}
