PRN 38869 The George Hotel is a three storey brick building, built in 1780. It has a circular window with original tracery. The interior includes original fireplaces and Adam decoration on the stairs. The cellars may contain traces of a medieval inn. The carriageway, which has been filled in, has a datestone of 1780. The north wing was added in 1923. {2} The hotel was substantially remodelled in the 1990s when it was converted into a shopping centre. {3}
