Full Description

Grade II listed fountain and retaining walls forming the central feature of the Italian garden, dating from about 1811 and by Jeffry Wyatville. They were reconstructed in about 1870 to 1900 by the 3rd Earl Brownlow, and altered in about 1940. There is a shallow fountain bowl on a knop stem, set in a round pond with a low enclosing wall with small pedestals and stepped slab coping. The surrounding path is bordered by a similar wall with four openings for pathways. For the full description of this listed building please refer to the National Heritage List for England. {1}
