Full Description

Early 18th century garden temple, to the north-east of Belton House. Believed to have been resited in 1816, possibly from an original location at Culverthorpe. Restored in the late 20th century. Designed in a Palladian style, and built of stucco with an ashlar stone front, with a slate roof. Has a central archway with channelled rusticated piers and imposts, and vermiculated voussoirs and keystone. To both sides of the archway are small, set-back side bays, each with a round arched niche and a half-pediment. The interior of the structure has a stucco barrel vault, and contains a memorial urn dated 1826, on a square pedestal with Latin inscription.
