Full Description

Grade II listed former school and school house, now village hall and house, dating from 1847. They are squared rock faced ashlar with smooth ashlar quoins and dressings and have slate roofs with stone coped gables and crested ridge tiles. There is a gabled 13th century style bellcote. For the full description of this listed building please refer to the National Heritage List for England. {1} White's 1856 Trade Directory states that the school was attended by 30 free scholars at the time. {2} The buildings can be seen on the 1904 OS map but are not listed as a school. {3}
