Full Description

A pair of grade II listed gate piers, dating from the early 19th century. They are square cast iron openwork piers with straight sides surmounted by a cornice with freestanding paterae above. The sides are formed of circular patterns in the Greek Taste. Bearers for gate hinges remain, but the gates were removed during the Second World War. This was the principal entrance to the Thorold mansion house of Syston Park. For the full description of this listed building please refer to the National Heritage List for England. {1}
