PRN 37638 This house is a two storey stone mansion built for Richard Newcombe in 1842. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} This house was built by Richard Newcombe for his own use in 1842. It stands on the site of an earlier house which was built within a stone quarry which gave the house its name. The design of the main elevation is in a classical style but with eclectic use of motifs resulting in a florid appearance typical of mid-Victorian architecture. The interior is profusely decorated in a similar style. {2}
