Full Description

Grade II listed school, dating from 1861 and altered in 1875. It is red brick with burnt header decoration, ashlar dressings and decoration and has slate roofs with stone coped gables with finials, two large projecting lateral stacks and eaves, decorated with alternating red brick and ashlar a giving dentillated effect. For the full description of this listed building please refer to the National Heritage List for England. {1} White's 1872 Trade Directory describes the school building as 'a good building, substantially fitted up…' with a parochial library. {2} The building can be seen in its current plan form on the 1905 OS map of Marston. A number of modern classroom buildings have since been add to the rear of the site. {3}
