This mid 18th century house is three storeys in height and is constructed of red brick with a slate mansard roof and a modern shop front. The second floor windows have wrought iron balconies. The top floor has a semi-circular window with moulded brick surround. There is a good staircase in the upper storeys. The rear section is a three storey stone house, also of 18th century date, with a high, old slate roof. The main range of this building is constructed of brick and dates to the 1760s. In 1768 it was the Globe Inn, and was described as recently built. The mansard roof is early 19th century. The stone range to the rear is of early 18th century date although it has some features which date to the 1760s. The attic has plaster floors. {2}
