Full Description

Grade I listed base of a bastion to the north gate, dating from the 3rd century. It is dressed stone facing on a random rubble core. It has a semicircular plan, with a chamfered plinth. This building formed part of the north gate of the Roman Colonia wall. For the full description of this listed building please refer to the National Heritage List for England. {1}
