Full Description
A cottage dating from the 17th century which underwent alterations in the 19th and 20th century. It was probably constructed of mud and stud with colour washed mud and colour washed red brick and has a thatched half hipped roof with wooden eaves on return walls and a central ridge stack. Toad Hall, Great Sturton. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard of U plan. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. There has been a partial loss (less than 50%) of traditional buildings. Located within or in association with a hamlet. Large modern sheds are located to the side of the site. {2}
