Full Description

An ashlar, square-plan war memorial built in about 1919. It has a facetted base rising to a roll moulding and square inscription panels recording those killed in the First World War. There is a shaped top rising to a tapering shaft with wreathed swags and a crown finial surmounted by an orb. Unveiled in 1921, the memorial consists of a 20ft (6m) high pillar surmounted by a small laurel wreath and crown. It stands on a plinth with a stone step base and concrete foundations. {3}
