Full Description

A house dating from the early 18th century which underwent alterations in about 1830. It was constructed of red brick with painted stucco dressings and has a slate roof with overhanging bracketed wooden eaves and two hip stacks. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} Burgh House does not appear in the 1771 plan of the Old Inclosures of Burgh le Marsh nor in the 1771 plan of Lord Monson's Estates. The earliest known written record of Burgh House dates back to 1796, meaning that Burgh House was probably built at some point between 1771 and 1796. {2}
