Full Description

A former small country house in a park which is now a private school. It was built in the early 17th century and was substantially remodelled in about 1730 for James Bateman, extended in the late 18th century for Francis Dashwood, partly gutted by fire in 1845 and rebuilt in 1925 by Guy Elwes. It was constructed of red brick in English and Flemish bonds with ashlar dressings and has plain tiled hipped roofs with lead dressings and four ridge brick stacks.
