Full Description

A limestone ashlar gravestone, dating from 1885. The stone is oblong in shape, and has a barely legible inscription running round the border. It also has a cross inscribed with a small circle containing a cross at the centre and at each termination. It is dedicated to T. W. Mossman, vicar of West Torrington. He was responsible for the restoration of the church and was an important and controversial figure in the Oxford Movement, correspondent of Cardinal Newman, founder of Brotherhood training poor men for the priesthood, noted historian, active Liberal politician and crucial figure in the early Oecumenical movement.
