Full Description

A house, now flats, dating from the late 18th century which underwent alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. It was constructed of red brown brick and has a pantile roof with brick coped gables, part tumbled, one reduced gable stack and a ridge stack. The earliest reference to it is in 1788 when it was known as The Crown Inn. The name was changed to Crown & Anchor Inn probably in 1803 or 1804. The license was moved in 1858 to a new building at 20 London Road (HER: MLI92731). {2}
