Full Description

A drinking fountain dating from 1860, by Samuel Sherwin of Liverpool. It was constructed of white Mansfield limestone ashlar with pink sandstone polychrome work and a pink Aberdeen granite bowl. It is a small gabled structure with an elaborate iron finial and a protruding bowl supported on an engaged chamfered column. There is also a step moulded base and a tablet set in a pointed niche under an arched dripmould with foliated terminals which reads 'The gift of Thomas Garfitt Esq. 1860'.
