Description
BOSTON TF3244SE HIGH STREET 716-1/7/68 (West side) 14/02/75 Drinking Fountain GV II Drinking fountain. 1860 by Samuel Sherwin of Liverpool. White Mansfield limestone ashlar with pink sandstone polychrome work and pink Aberdeen granite bowl. Small gabled structure with elaborate iron finial. Protruding bowl supported on engaged chamfered column. Step moulded base. Tablet set in pointed niche under arched dripmould with foliated terminals reads 'The gift of Thomas Garfitt Esq. 1860'.
