Full Description
Grade II listed drainage sluice, dating from 1733 and built for the Court of Sewers. It is red brick with ashlar dressings. It is a brick round arched tunnel 38 foot long, six foot high and three foot six inches wide. The main front has a round arched tunnel entrance with an ashlar keystone inscribed TB 1733, and splayed brick walls. The other entrance has a similar round arched entrance with embanked brick side walls with ashlar quoins and coping. This sliuce was built as one of two sluices which served as outfalls for the Wyberton Towns Drain. It was built at a cost of £297 11s.
